Fonderia Donati Giuseppe Srl has been operating in the cold chamber die casting sector for light alloys since 1950. The production facility covers an area of approximately 6,000 square metres and is divided into several departments: melting furnace, die casting department with 6 fully automated presses of various tonnages, machining, quality control, finished product packaging, and warehouse for mould and equipment storage. The entire production cycle is managed with maximum reliability at every stage of the manufacturing process: from raw material melting and die casting to surface finishing and various mechanical operations.
Production is focused on medium, small, and very small batch manufacturing, using the main aluminium alloys available on the market as well as, upon customer request, special and custom alloys. Fonderia Donati also specializes in mould sampling and the development of new die casting equipment. The size of the cast components ranges from parts weighing just a few grams to castings exceeding 10 kg.
THE FOUNDRY
PRESSES FROM 350 TO 1200 TONS
The machine fleet, a true strength of the company, consists of presses with clamping forces ranging from 380 to 1200 tons. This wide range allows us to manufacture components weighing up to 10 kg. Production is mainly focused on small and medium series for major industrial sectors, including: mechanical and electrical engineering, automotive, marine industry, household appliances, air compressor components, hydraulics, lighting, medical equipment, furniture, and general industrial components.
CUTTING-EDGE HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
The use of hybrid technology presses allows increased production rates while ensuring consistent process quality.

OUR STRENGTHS
Fonderia Donati Giuseppe supports companies requiring small and medium production runs, including complex and specialized machining processes, up to the delivery of the finished semi-finished product.
FLEXIBILITY
Fonderia Donati Giuseppe is able to meet a wide range of customer requirements, including complex and custom machining processes, alloy changes, equipment version modifications, mould maintenance, and special treatments carried out in collaboration with our suppliers.
INNOVATION AND PROGRESS
Continuous machinery upgrades together with ongoing research and monitoring of new technologies allow us to stay up to date with industry developments. The digitalization of our production plant enables us to monitor the entire manufacturing process and respond promptly in the event of any issues.
SAMPLING AND PRE-SERIES PRODUCTION
The fast turnaround of sample production, the accuracy of the data provided to customers, the wide range of presses available (from 350 to 1200 tons), and the possibility of choosing different alloys allow us to collaborate with leading companies in the sector for equipment sampling. Upon customer request, we also manufacture pre-series batches and carry out functional testing of trimming dies.
CONSULTING
Fonderia Donati Giuseppe works closely with its customers during the mould design phase, providing detailed and accurate information about the production process and suggesting the most suitable structural and functional solutions for the equipment, with the aim of maximizing the production of defect-free finished components.
DEPARTMENTS
MELTING DEPARTMENT
The foundry is equipped with a brand-new Marconi vertical charging melting system with a capacity of 2,000 kg, as well as a secondary melting furnace with a capacity of 2,500 kg for additional production requirements. The main alloy used is 46100.
THE FOUNDRY
The foundry consists of 6 automated production cells equipped with presses ranging from 350 to 1200 tons. Each press is fitted with a holding furnace, with the possibility of melting customized alloys upon customer request.
TRIMMING AND FINISHING DEPARTMENT
The department extends throughout the entire production line, with dedicated areas for finishing, trimming, sandblasting, and mechanical machining operations.
SANDBLASTING DEPARTMENT
The department is equipped with two hook-type sandblasting machines and one conveyor belt sandblasting machine, using different shot sizes to meet the customer’s technical requirements.
MOULD STORAGE
An entire area of the facility is dedicated to equipment storage. After thorough cleaning and maintenance, the tooling is prepared and ready for future production runs.
TOOLING MAINTENANCE
The tooling is cleaned and maintained at the end of each production cycle to ensure maximum efficiency for subsequent production batches.
SPECIALIZED IN MOULD SAMPLING
1
MOULD SAMPLING REQUEST
The organization and flexibility of our company allow us to carry out mould sampling activities with very short notice.
2
PRODUCTION
During the sampling phase, customers have the opportunity to attend the testing process and personally monitor the quality of the die-cast components. In addition, machining operations can be carried out according to specific requirements and production needs.
3
SUPPORT AND DATA
At the end of the sampling process, all machine data and operating parameters are provided. Upon request, X-ray inspection images of the various checks can also be supplied, highlighting critical and porous areas, together with useful recommendations for improving the tooling for future production runs.
QUALITY CONTROL
To verify and guarantee the quality and integrity of the castings, X-ray inspections are carried out using a brand-new Bosello machine, allowing real-time monitoring of any porosity or non-metallic inclusions that could compromise product quality. Fonderia Donati is also equipped with additional quality control instruments to ensure both raw material quality and the integrity of die-cast components, including a spectrometer for analysing the chemical composition of the alloy and a DEA Mistral 3D measuring machine for dimensional inspection of die-cast parts, Mitutoyo Surftest SJ-210 surface roughness tester, dimensional gauges, and standardized plug gauges.
